Your favorite rock opera society is looking for badass actors, singers, and dancers for a remount of our 2011 original rock opera, Amphion!

We will be casting 7 primary roles, 12-16 singers for a rock choir, a small ensemble and a team of dancers. We are not looking for any specific actor type; all are welcome. Actors of color are encouraged to attend. Although we do not have a lead role for a young actor, actors aged 12 and up are also welcome to attend!

Auditions will take place at BROS HQ (first floor of the Bell Foundry building, 1539 N Calvert St, Baltimore MD 21202). Our entrance is through the glass double doors on the south side of Federal Street, east of Calvert.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Amphion is a tragic love story set in Constantinople in the year 532 AD. This sweeping dramatic epic sets a gifted musician against a political and cultural struggle. On the eve of a historic peace with the Persian Empire, a court musician to the Emperor Justinian finds himself torn between his patriotic duties and newfound love for a powerful ambassador’s daughter. Amphion’s supernatural songwriting ability swayed the people of Constantinople in wartime and won him the love of the beautiful Nasreen. Will it be enough to save him from a gore-filled fate?

Group auditions will begin promptly on the hour for each session. Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time and please come prepared to list your conflicts through June 26. Walk-ins will be accepted as time permits. Please be sure to dress for MOVEMENT (comfortable shoes and clothing that is not too loose or too tight).

Please prepare NO MORE THAN five minutes of material in total. One prepared monologue and one song is encouraged for actors. ⅛” audio input (headphone cable) into a stereo will be provided for music playback. A short piece of prepared movement is encouraged for dancers. All auditionees are encouraged to sing something, but there are non-singing parts in the show.This is a NON-EQUITY show. Actors will not be paid for their work, but food will be provided during all tech and show dates.
