Our annual fundraiser and semi-formal gala, the Swanktacular, has been an annual staple of BROS' schedule since 2014.

Every spring we don our fanciest duds, scarf delicious grub from local businesses, quaff numerous libations, and rock into the night with our members, supporters, and friends.

Every year features a theme, musical performances, as well as live entertainment. Truly, it is the swankiest night of the year, and one of the best parties in Baltimore.

A WEEKEND OF PURE CREATION

How To Write a Rock Opera, in One Week:

Weekend One (8/1, 8/2): write a rock opera

Weekend Two (8/7, 8/8): stage a rock opera

Ever wanted to create a rock opera - but found the concept a little daunting? Hop on into the BROS Rock Opera Big Bang, a hackathon-style workshop in which teams will have one week to create a mini rock opera from start to finish! Teams will assemble on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd and write scripts and music inspired by a 20 sided die generated theme prompt; we’ll then gather a cast and crew and stage matinee performances the following Saturday, August 8th at the Ottobar. We'll have experienced BROS available to help you work through creative roadblocks, tech challenges, and getting around the workshop, plus open shop hours through the week. This will be a fun, slightly bonkers, very low-stakes opportunity to try out new skills and ideas. Join the mayhem!
