After may years of blood, sweat, and volunteer service, Dylan Koehler, Treasurer, and Claudia Jolin, Chair, have stepped down from their positions on BROS Board of Directors. Thank you to both of them for their time and leadership. Additionally Naomi Davidoff, long time BRO, will be stepping into the role of Board Chair and Aran Keating founding member and former Executive Director of BROS will be taking on the role of Interim Board Treasurer.

Featuring the New Song Academy Students, BROS & Wordsmith, The Purple Tape is a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. A local radio station is giving away four free tickets to the Fresh 2 Def Fest in Baltimore, MD if someone can find the last "Purple Tape" in existence. It's a purple-tinted cassette pressing of Raekwon's (Wu-Tang Clan) 1995 solo debut, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Only 10,000 cassettes were printed guaranteeing it would only fall into the hands of the most devoted Raekwon/Wu-Tang fans. The search for the purple tape ends up being a lesson in Hip Hop History as the students realize the culture of Hip Hop is a way of living. Whether its MCing, DJ’ing, break dancing or graffiti; Hip Hop has influenced the way they talk, dress, dance and present themselves to the public. Songs from the aforementioned artists will lend a soundtrack to this Hip Hop treasure hunt.
