Lempira

Lempira is our first bilingual show, with a script and songs written in both English and Spanish. The mytho-historical show is set among the Lenca people of Honduras during the Spanish Inquisition at the time of the arrival of Christopher Columbus.

Production will begin in February 2025, and the show will run throughout May 2025.

Actor and Movement Auditions

January 17th and 18th

at BROS HQ
3304 Greenmount Ave

We are casting actor/singers as well as non-speaking dancers/movers. Production will begin in February 2025. The show opens May 9th and closes May 31st.

Lempira is a bilingual show, with both Spanish and English dialogue and surtitles. We are looking for Latino Spanish-speaking actors for several roles. Other roles will speak entirely English. BROS is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse creative environment. While we encourage individuals of all ethnicities and backgrounds to apply, this production seeks to authentically represent the Latino community, and we strongly encourage individuals who identify as Latino to apply. All are welcome, and we celebrate the unique contributions each individual brings to our work.

Each audition will last approximately one hour. You will work in groups, performing a group movement exercise and individual acting/music auditions. Actors, prepare any song of your choosing and be ready to sing a portion, as well as a short monologue. Lempira will be almost entirely sung through, there are no speaking-only roles. If you're auditioning solely for a movement role, prepare a short solo piece. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Come prepared to sing, move, and read sides with other performers. We will be casting up to 15 roles with spoken lines and singing, as well as up to 6 non-speaking/movement-only roles.

CONTENT WARNING: Lempira is a story based on real, historical events. Included in this story are depictions of racial/colonial violence/subjugation and a scene depicting violation of consent/sexual assault.
If you cannot make it to auditions in person, you may send us a video audition. Please send us a short video, under 3 minutes, that includes a monologue and a song, or shows off your movement/dance ability. You can upload a file directly, or link to a video elsewhere.
