The goal of the 2015 BROS Campaign for Cash was to raise enough funds to hire our first salaried staff persons. Bringing dedicated BROS staff on board will benefit every aspect of the company. It will allow us to be more organized, make plans further in advance, take on new opportunities for collaboration and produce an even more insane level of face-melting rock operas. All of this will happen without changing the essential core of the BROS experience and the values that we all share as a company: fun, crazy ideas, intense levels of artistry, collaboration and an opportunity to be a part of an epic experience.
With that goal in sight, members of BROS Staff, the BROS Board of Directors, and the Artistic Council joined together to form the BROS Hiring Committee, which was dedicated in finding the right people for the following positions: Managing Director, Production Director, and Volunteer Director. We found these roles to be ones people hadn't naturally settled in as volunteers (like Aran as Artistic Director), but were vital to fill first as BROS moves into the future. The Hiring Committee worked diligently, interviewing over 50 potential candidates, and chose the following candidates by consensus:
Shannon joined BROS in 2011 during the BROS Double Feature doing graphic design, worked front of house for Valhella, and went on to form the BROS Marketing Team for Murdercastle. She has been officially serving as the BROS Marketing Director since 2013, and is very excited to transition into the financial health and well-being of BROS as the new Managing Director.
Debra first joined BROS in 2013 as a front of house volunteer for Murdercastle. She stepped up as stage manager for Gründlehämmer in 2014 and never looked back. In her new role as Production Director, she will help take Chronoshred to its final form and has already started working on Amphion, Brides of Tortuga, and beyond. She is so excited to see BROS grow with dedicated full-time staff at the helm. Next up: Rock Opera Palace!
Miriam began volunteering with BROS during Murdercastle in 2013 – and just never left. She's excited and humbled by this opportunity to help the company continue their quest to conquer the world over the next 7,000 years.
