The Electric Pharaoh is a rock musical set in a place which was once ancient Egypt, but is now a futuristic city where electricity is currency and a powerful pharaoh keeps the people divided. A boy from the lower crust, full of strange mysteries, uncovers the secrets of the past with his friends and sets off a revolution to the tune of garage rock mixed with larger-than-life electronic rock.
The Electric Pharaoh is the 6th original production written and produced by the Baltimore Rock Opera Society. This large-scale, science-fiction audio-visual epic will feature a large ensemble, a hybrid rock and electronic live band, extensive multimedia design and a cast of billions. The show will open in the fall of 2014 in Baltimore for two weekends of performance before going to a single weekend of shows in both Philly and DC.
At the meeting you can meet the team of designers who will be leading the charge on the production, hear all about the show (maybe get a sneak peek at some of the epic stuff in the works) and the tour – and we will also be recruiting YOU to lend a hand! BROS is a volunteer-based organization – we can’t do this without your help!
We’re looking for set builders, sign painters, prop scavengers, laser lovers, costumers, and MORE! We’ll need all hands on deck to pull this off, so come on out and hang out with your favorite rock opera society!
Our doors will be open to ALL: be you a veteran since the days of the original Gründlehämmer or a brand new friend of the BROS – we want to see your face! Join us at BROS HQ (aka the first floor of the Bell Foundry) and ensure your seat in the Hall of the Dragon King!
Want to get involved but can't make this meeting? Email Electric Pharaoh's Volunteer Coordinator Miriam Cummons, and tell her you want to BE A BRO!
