The Director will also be part of the team that selects applicants for design roles and must attend production meetings, script meetings and many design meetings.
Assistant Director (AD):The Assistant Director works alongside the Director to carry out the aesthetic vision of the show, assisting with auditions, meetings, rehearsals, and other decision-making processes, as well as occasionally running rehearsals when the Director needs to focus on other things. During the performance run, the SM is responsible for calling lighting/sound/projection cues to the board operator(s) and setting up/closing down the stage each night. He/she communicates with Front of House to make sure that performances start on schedule. The SM works with the Production Director on matters of logistics, and assists the Director and Assistant Director in running rehearsals.
