On Sunday, March 20 the Baltimore Rock Opera Society will be hosting an info night about our next show: Amphion! The 2016 remount will be an all-killer, no-filler version of this classic from the BROS vault, originally produced as part of the 2011 BROS Double Feature.
The all-hands volunteer meeting will begin at 6pm and will be followed at 7:30pm with a screening of the original production.
Amphion is a tragic love story set in Constantinople in the year 532 AD. This sweeping dramatic epic sets a gifted musician against a political and cultural struggle. On the eve of a historic peace with the Persian Empire, a court musician to the Emperor Justinian finds herself torn between her patriotic duties and her newfound love for a powerful ambassador’s daughter. Amphion’s supernatural songwriting ability swayed the people of Constantinople in wartime and won her the love of the beautiful Nasreen. Will it be enough to save her from her fate?
At the meeting you'll hear all about the different concepts behind the show and meet the creative teams who will be leading the charge on the production – and we will also be recruiting YOU to lend a hand! BROS is a volunteer-based organization, and we can't do this without your help!
We're looking for set builders, costume makers, prop scavengers, fake blood experimenters, cardboard and hot glue savants, faux bois enthusiasts, and more. No experience? No problem! We can teach you the basic skills you need to help bring the show to life.
Our doors will be open to ALL. Be you a veteran since the days of the original Gründlehämmer or a brand new friend of the BROS – we want to see your face! ONWARD TO GLORY!
Can't make the meeting but want to stay in touch? Sign up as a volunteer and get on our newsletter!
