The Choreographer leads the fight and movement choreography on a production. With oversight from the Director, the Choreographer will lead scheduled rehearsals during the production period, and help a team of movers learn or devise fight and movement pieces as you see fit. We are looking for the pieces to have a mixture of traditional fight choreo and more interpretive movement to get the story across. The Choreographer must collaborate with all other show departments to ensure that stage movement is compatible with musical cues, costuming, creatures, puppets, sets, etc. They must also keep safety in mind ahead of anything else, and make sure no one can get hurt during the "fights" or other movement pieces. Lempira is a bilingual show, with both Spanish and English dialogue and surtitles. It is not required that you speak Spanish fluently, but it is certainly a plus!

Lempira is a massive, mythic tale of good and evil, told with music, puppetry, and theater. Based on true events and Mesoamerican history & mythology, Lempira tells the historic tragedy of the Lenca tribe through Latin-inspired metal and the creative use of language. The show opens May 9th 2025 and closes May 31st 2025.
