The Baltimore Rock Opera Society (BROS) and Arena Players, Inc., are seeking multi-talented actors, singers, and dancers for our double header remount of Determination of Azimuth / Battle of Blue Apple Crossing in February 2018!

ABOUT THE SHOWS
“Determination of Azimuth” and "Battle of Blue Apple Crossing" are two short-form rock operas that center on prominent figures in African-American history.  “Determination of Azimuth” is an experimental musical about NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, who recently enjoyed increased visibility thanks to the 2016 film “Hidden Figures.” (But we did it first!) “Battle of Blue Apple Crossing” tells the legend of famous blues musician Robert Johnson and the alleged sale of his soul to the devil for musical talent using southern blues and rock music.

The two shows were originally performed in 2015 as part of the BROS Rock Opera 6-Pack. The production will be a collaborative effort between Baltimore’s Arena Players, the longest continually operating African-American theater in the US, and the BROS, a DIY artist collective that produces original rock musicals.

Show dates are February 9-11 and February 16-18 at Arena Players’ historic theater. There will be a first read in late November with rehearsals to begin the week of December 3, 2017. There will also be a two week break at the end of December to accommodate some holidays.
